Summer Adventures Sleepout

“It was great seeing all my friends online and my favorite thing was singing the camp songs while eating smores” Guide

Members of Worthing Cissbury Division enjoyed a Summer Adventures Sleepout during the hottest days in August!

Over 70 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers took part in a huge range of activities from their homes. They set up dens, tents and outdoor shelters, made their own dinner and had a campfire over zoom (complete with toasted marshmallows) followed by storytime or stargazing.

Early risers were treated to an exercise class followed by some amazing breakfasts where the girls were challenged to make a healthy meal that looked like something else – we saw lots of fantastic ideas.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed a scavenger hunt after learning some tracking signs. The afternoon was filled with traditional skills such as gadget making – the camp showers were perfect to cool off, testing out water filters, re-creating camp scenes in lego or edible ones out of cake, or finding out how to recognise different birds in a nature game.

There was a closing ceremony to lower the flag that the girls had made and promises were renewed. It was so much fun and we can’t wait to do something similar again!
